This Privacy Policy explains how Yoiden(the “App” and “Service”), operated by Crescendo Transcription Private Limited (“Yoiden”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our mobile app and website. By using Yoiden, you agree to the practices described here. This policy is issued in accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and applicable rules.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Your name, mobile phone number, and a self-chosen PIN (stored in encrypted/hashed form) used to authenticate you.
  • Profile information: Display name, city, state, and optional details such as date of birth, gender, skill level, bio, and a profile photo.
  • Approximate location: With your permission, we use your device’s approximate (city-level) location to show tournaments and courts near you. We do not collect precise (GPS) location, and you can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
  • Tournament & league data: Tournaments and leagues you create, host, register for, or play in, including match results, scores, standings, and skill ratings derived from your match history.
  • Court booking data: Venues, dates, courts, and time slots you book.
  • Payment information: When you pay for a booking or entry fee, payment is processed by our payment partner (Razorpay). We receive a transaction status and reference; we do not collect or store your full card, UPI, or bank details.
  • Photos & content: Images you upload (such as a profile picture or venue photos) and other content you submit.
  • Communications: Messages you send us for support, and one-time passwords (OTPs) sent via SMS to verify your phone number.
  • Device & usage information: Device type, operating system version, and app version, collected automatically to diagnose crashes and improve performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Create, secure, and manage your account, and verify your phone number.
  • Enable tournament and league registration, seeding, scheduling, scoring, and standings.
  • Enable court discovery, booking, and payment.
  • Calculate and display skill ratings, leaderboards, and your player profile.
  • Show you relevant tournaments and courts near your city.
  • Allow organizers to manage check-ins and coordinate with participants.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
  • Improve the App’s performance and fix issues.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on the consent you provide when you create an account and use features (such as granting location permission), and for legitimate and lawful purposes necessary to provide the Service, including performing our agreement with you and complying with law. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your Rights”), though some features may not work without the relevant data.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share limited data only as follows:

  • Tournament / league organizers can see the names and phone numbers of players registered in their events, for coordination and check-in.
  • Other players and the public can see your display name, city, skill level, ratings, and results on leaderboards and in events you take part in.
  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
    • Google Cloud Platform — hosting and database (stored in the Asia South 1 / Mumbai region).
    • Razorpay — payment processing for bookings and entry fees.
    • Firebase (Google) — authentication infrastructure.
    • MSG91 — sending one-time-password SMS for phone verification.
    • Google Maps / Places — location and venue search.
    • Amazon Web Services (S3) — secure storage of images you upload.
    • DUPR — only if you choose to connect your DUPR account, to display your official pickleball rating and report match results, subject to DUPR’s own privacy policy.
  • Legal & safety: We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Yoiden, our users, or the public.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud (PostgreSQL) in the Asia South 1 (Mumbai) region. All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. PINs are stored in hashed form, and we use signed authentication tokens. While we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed from our systems. Aggregated or anonymized results that no longer identify you may be retained for tournament record-keeping and statistics.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access and review your personal data in the Profile section of the App.
  • Correct or update your profile information at any time.
  • Delete your account permanently from within the App (Me > Delete Account). This removes your personal data, tournament history, and ratings, and cannot be undone.
  • Withdraw consent (for example, by revoking location permission in your device settings).
  • Raise a grievance or complaint with our Grievance Officer (see “Contact Us”).

8. Children’s Privacy

Yoiden is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate consent. Where a minor participates in an event, their account must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian who consents to this policy on their behalf. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without such consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for significant changes, notify you through the App. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
